As a leading UK provider of secure document automation solutions, Datagraphic has invested in Canon’s ColorStream 8133 and varioPRINT iX3200 to accelerate the next phase of growth. Alongside high-speed and reliable equipment, Canon’s business-oriented services will also play a crucial role in supporting Datagraphic’s sustainability commitments.
This new partnership arrived just in time following Canon’s exhibition at drupa 2024, the world’s leading trade fair for print technologies.
With over 30 years of experience, Datagraphic is at the forefront of the multichannel communications sector, offering services and tools that help the public sector and private enterprises automate their document processes. Through cloud-based multichannel communication solutions, Aceni and Epay Datagraphic streamline the distribution of clients’ most time-critical outbound mail. By securely automating the production and delivery of customer and employee-facing documents, from council tax bills and medical appointments to payslips and pension letters. In summary, any personal or financial document that needs to be distributed physically or digitally.
As a company, Datagraphic was looking to replace existing printers to keep up with increasing demands from service-level agreements (SLAs) and evolving client needs; Canon emerged as the obvious partner to ensure seamless service delivery. By investing in Canon’s varioPRINT iX3200 and ColorStream 8133, we aim to benefit from its speed, productivity and quality to unprecedented levels.
The ColorStream 8133 enhances automation with its high-performance software platform, PRISMAproduction, which optimises workflows and offers flexible integration when processing data and converting files, allowing Datagraphic to deliver 60% more capacity than ever before.
Increasing speed and capacity will support same-day-despatch services, business growth and meeting client expectations for shorter turnaround times.
Sustainability was a crucial factor in selecting a Datagraphic partner. Having near-term, long-term and net-zero targets approved and validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), being a signatory to the Climate Pledge, with a net zero by 2040 target, and a comprehensive published Social Impact Strategy, Datagraphic leads the way on decarbonisation and responsible business practices. Working with Canon will allow Datagraphic to minimise emissions, waste, and energy consumption further, and it will also contribute to a circular economy by recycling parts following industry-standard processes.
Datagraphic’s sustainability commitments and highly responsive customer service have played a key role in the company’s decision to invest in Canon. The new partnership will set a strong foundation to support the organisation’s next stage of growth in the future.
Sarah Butler, Managing Director at Datagraphic, comments:
“Year-on-year, our production volumes are growing by ~10%, driven by consistently meeting very specific same-day or day-defined client SLAs. Our equipment capacity and reliability are therefore crucial, as is the support infrastructure to maintain service continuity.
From the outset, Canon’s enthusiasm matched ours for developing a long-term partnership based on shared values to help us continue our growth journey and do it with a proven partner in a sustainable way. The team here and I are excited by this next chapter and what working with Canon now will bring to our organisation.
Stuart Rising, Head of Commercial Print at Canon UK and Ireland, adds:
“This is an exciting time for Canon to unveil our new partnership with Datagraphic at this year’s drupa! We worked very closely with Datagraphic to ensure we completely understood its business, sustainability, and client needs to help them reach their next level of growth. The varioPRINT iX3200 and Canon ColorStream 8133, as well as our outstanding customer service, will be fundamental in ensuring the business maintains its position as a leader in the multichannel communications industry.”
