For National Apprenticeship week (03-09 February 2020), Taahira Harris talks about starting her career at Datagraphic.
“After A-levels in 2018, I saw a Digital Marketing apprenticeship advertised with Datagraphic.
The job description attracted my attention, but I knew nothing about the industry. When I got an interview, I did my homework. I must have read every page of their website and social media channels. The research paid off, as I later learnt that my answers on the GDPR and data security had impressed the interviewer.
I started as a Digital Marketing Apprentice at Datagraphic in June 2018. My managers and training provider created a detailed plan so I could take full advantage of the qualification.
I had set projects to complete for my Level 3 social media and digital marketing course. It was a combination of theory lessons, practical experience and final exams.
With my manager’s encouragement, I began working independently as well as in the team. My confidence grew and I started to understand the industry and to apply what I was learning to my work.
I had the opportunity to progress and develop new skills every day. I also had support in each theory and practical stage and the time to complete my studies.
I finished my course in September 2019. I was then offered a permanent job as a Marketing Co-ordinator. I immediately excepted. I enjoy working in our friendly office environment. I’m developing new skills all the time too. And I know there are many opportunities to excel in marketing at Datagraphic.
