We are thrilled to announce that Datagraphic has achieved B Corp Certification. Becoming a B corp is an important recognition that underscores our commitment to the future of our planet and people.
Becoming a B Corp is a significant milestone for our business and represents our commitment to reinventing business for the benefit of people and our shared planet.
A lot of work has gone into reaching this point over the years, and this achievement demonstrates that we, as a business, meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance to force change through responsible business. It is a testament to our dedication to building a sustainable future and creating a positive impact for our employees, communities, and the planet.
Here’s a little bit about what it means and why we pursued this certification.
What is B Corp Certification?
B Corp Certification is awarded by B Lab. B Lab is a global nonprofit organisation that assesses and verifies companies meeting the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. It recognises businesses that balance purpose and profit, working to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
Our journey to certification
As a business, Datagraphic has been working on the B Corp process since 2023. To gain certification, however, the assessment is rigorous and covers every aspect of business, including operations, policies, and practices. The evaluation put our entire business under the microscope.
The B Labs framework, therefore, sent us down a path of self-analysis. We needed to answer every question and provide evidence for review by a B Corp analyst.
This process identified areas to work on and strengthen so that our operations truly back the concept of being purpose-led and delivering against our vision.
Our overall score came out at an impressive 89.5. In general, the median score for businesses that complete the assessment is currently 50.9. This score means they have to re-submit their application.
Some highlights of our achievements which contributed to our overall 89.5 score in achieving B Corp Certification include:
- Planet: We are committed to reducing carbon emissions, mitigating environmental impact, and building resilience against climate-related risks.
- People: We pay 100% of employees the Real Living Wage or above and provide healthcare benefits to every employee.
- Community: We contribute financial and in-kind donations to community projects and support employees in volunteer activities during work hours to give back to the community.
- Partners: We work collaboratively with long-term suppliers and insist every party in the supply chain conforms to an ethical trading policy.
Why pursue B Corp?
B Corp Certification now provides our team with more opportunities to network, collaborate, and share expertise with like-minded B Corps. We will be using our investment in B Corp Certification to seek ways to improve what we do and to take meaningful action to continuously improve our operations.
We will promote our business to other B Corp Certified organisations, showing Datagraphic’s document automation and digital transformation services to potential clients and partners who share similar principles, with the aspiration of expanding the good we can collectively achieve.
Certification will also help us continue to attract the best talent, finding employees who are enthusiastic about working for Datagraphic, a company that aligns with their personal values.
Our hope is that being a B Corp Certified organisation, with a requirement for transparent public reporting on our environmental, safety, and health performance, we will build another level of trust and confidence with clients, suppliers and employees.
Looking ahead
Datagraphic has been a responsible business since day one. The B Corp status recognises that we are committed and will continue our journey toward greater sustainability and positive impact.
Thank you to our employees, clients, partners, and community for their unwavering support and dedication – particularly during the certification process.
Together, we can drive meaningful change and build a more sustainable, equitable world.
